In my area there are at least 4 that are closer to me than a Home
Depot is.

I very very seldom get anything from HD, though yes for basic generic
standard items they can have a good price. I am amazed at how they
have the public trained that if its not at HD people can't figure out
how else to get it. HD would be my last resort, not the first choice.
