So that was 'most' in a population of - a few thousand - with pits?

Pits had more of a use - possibly - when cars needed servicing often.

Which exactly applies in my case as I already said that I wanted to
acquire an old car again, like I drove in my youth.

The ones I drove then are all in museums ... :-(
