We typically only get around half who take the Flu
shot and that is a well established vaccine.

You chose a poor analog - the Polio and Smallpox vaccines
are a much better comparison than the annual flu vaccine.

Or the Measles vaccine. Or the Shingles vaccine.

vaccination rate, it's over 90%.

That is 90% of children, not the population in general, mostly because
it is done in school, sometimes without the knowledge of the parents.
Shingles vaccine is still less than 50%, more like 35%.

Because it isnt anything like as serious a medical problem.

Same with pneumonia and the flu shot.

There is no vaccine for all pneumonia, stupid.
