Default OHIO SAVINGS BANK: Refuses to account for additional principal payments

(Harry K) writes:
As I said. If the OP has his facts straight, there is something
wrong. Three days attempts to contact them with no results, no
corrections, payments not posted etc.

Three days is really Not That Long in the world of getting mortgage
problems resolved.

I doubt that there is anything
crooked going on but what is happening is inexcusable. As for the
5000. His balance is over by 5000. How is that not charging him?

He's got a loan/mortgage for which he is required to make the same
payment every month for many years, regardless of the current balance.
Errors can be corrected at any time merely by adjusting records in the
computer, which can then recalculate the entire history of the loan
based on the new data to arrive at a new balance, interest paid,
principle paid, etc. As long as any remaining errors are corrected by
the end of the year so he'll have correct numbers for his taxes, it
doesn't matter, financially, whether they're corrected in three days
or three months.

Granted, it's frustrating to the OP for the errors to be taking time to
get resolved, and he has a right to be upset about the errors having
been made in the first place, but it won't hurt him at all,
financially, to give them a couple of weeks to straighten things out.
