The driver's vision is always a compromise. One thing will always
obscure another.

As it happens I watched an old 'Vera' last night. Interior shots of her
LandRover showed her mobile phone in a windscreen holder near enough in
front of the driver. But it would be unlikely she'd get a pull from the
plod, unless they had a death wish.
