The American Medical Association has been adamantly against hydroxychloroquine as a therapeutic for COVID for the past year. Just a few days
before the presidential election they reversed course, reversing their opposition. Did they suddenly realize HCQ might have benefit in certain
patient groups or were they lying for the past year? How many individuals died as a result of being denied potential lifesaving treatment?

No, it didn't:

Rush put this story out there too. It's a good example of what's really fake news.

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh falsely claimed that the American Medical Association rescinded a previous statement and came out in support of hydroxychloroquine, the drug pushed by President Donald Trump for months as a potential treatment for COVID-19.

"Now all of a sudden the AMA (said) €” although very quietly €” that hydroxychloroquine is okay," Limbaugh said Dec. 15, telling his millions of listeners that the groups past statements were meant to hurt Trump. "Its perfectly fine. Go ahead and use it if you want. It can be helpful."

AMA's response:

"In March, AMA urged caution about prescribing hydroxychloroquine off-label to treat #COVID19," the AMA wrote, with a link to Poynters Covering COVID-19 newsletter by Al Tompkins. "Our position remains unchanged. Evidence-based #science & practice must guide these determinations."

Apparently there was a discussion at AMA and a vote recently with the result that their
position remains the same.

To bad the TT's can't check "fake news" before they spread them.
