That is generally the way of things these days...


old fitting include hot, the hot water valve is faulty, turned water off
in flat at stopcock, should be ok right, wrong hot water comes via combi
boiler that doesnt seem to be supplied from stopcock, at a loss
nearly flooded myself. Any help much appreciated


You combi boiler should have a valve on the cold water inlet somewhere.
Turn that off and that should stop all flow from your hot taps. Turning
off your main stopcock should also do this so whatever you turned off
before either *isnt* your main stop cock or you have a hot water tank
youve not told us about. ;-)
