My sister was told it was due to a supply problem due to a shortage of
eggs.


The NHS has 30 million doses, so there is not a shortage for the people
they think need it.

I doubt if they 'have' that number; they have probably ordered that number
and it will supplied in batches. There may be temporary local shortages. I
think the vaccine has a fairly short shelf life.
