I switched from Outlook Express to Thunderbird many years ago (10+?), at
the time the usability was about the same. In the interim Thunderbird has
improved a lot,

And has seen plenty seeing stuff get broken. Like the
current comment about an alleged security breach.

Outlook Express hasn't changed.

And that is one of the big advantages of it.
