But you think health care is free?

Its free in the sense that there is no specific charge to the
EU citizen who moves to the UK and needs to use the NHS.

We have a reciprocal agreement as regards health care.

the UK paid out £660 million last year, mostly to Spain,
Eire and Austria to pay for 'free' health care given to
UK pensioners living there.

We collect very little back from EU countries for the 'free'
health care dished out here.

Now give the figures for Spain, Eire and Austria, since you have them to
hand. I'd guess there are rather more UK expats in Spain, than Spanish
workers here. And being a choice retirement area, more old people wanting
more medical care.

But why are you criticising Spain, etc, being able to do the sums for non
nationals health care needed? If you're saying the UK can't? Surely that
is the fault of the UK?

There is a regular shuttle service from places like Poland
back to the UK where pregnant Poles come back to give birth
having worked here for a few years but now live in Poland.
This means they get free NHS obs and gynae and 18 years of
'free' child benefit.

Proof, please.
