As I pointed out it is totally academic as the same conditions would
apply to anyone entering a port or Airside.
The other minor problem you might have with your argument is that you
can travel to Ireland on a driving licence if going by air. A passport
or proof of nationality is not required.
It's not a legal requirement, but then airline won't take you - their
rules
I doubt the average EU fruit picker would choose to fly from Ireland to
the UK.
