All federal offices are closed todayin the US.
Is that normal for the day of a president's funeral? Or is it a
stunt
by Stumpie to a) to make it look like he respected Bush,
President Bush is a true war hero.
So was JFK, but I dont recall that happened when he as buried.
I do recall his little kid being told to salute as the corpse went by
tho.
Jesus, JFK's funeral lasted a week and
the whole damned city was shut down.
Like hell it was in the sense of all shops closed for a week.
(I lived there and went to school a
block from the White Housein 1963)
Which is why that school may have closed,
but all schools there didnt close for that week.
Yes they did along with all government offices.
But all shops werent for that week.
I was there, you were half way around
the world, probably still not conceived.
You're wrong about that last too. I had
in fact long since left school by then.
I am also not quite sure how he was a war hero.
Pretty basic really

That is certainly the legend that Joe
Kennedy sold to the American public
It isnt a legend, its a fact.
and since his older son was just blown up ,
most likely screwing up too, they let it slide.
His biographers certainly didnt.
There are original reports that the engines were off and they
were dead in the water when they saw the destroyer but time
and a lot of Kennedy money has made them disappear.
Not even possible to do that with biographers.
Maybe you did not read
Fraid so. Thats what I read, biographys.
or failed to comprehend, my father worked for navy intelligence
in the 50s and he knew what was in the navy reports,
So do the best of the biographers.
not what was planted in the New York Times.
That doesnt come from the NYT.
The PT109 story was written by Ted Sorenson and planted in the New
York times long before the navy had ever issued an official report.
That is a fact and I don't need someone from 12000 miles away telling
me what I know.
You probably also think JFK was one of our greatest presidents but you
will have to google it to find anything he ever did. LBJ did most of
the things JFK got credit for, after he died. JFK is the one who
almost ended the world over missiles in Cuba and in the end, he did
exactly what the Soviets wanted so they would pull them out.
