Hi,
If you drained brine tank when moving, you have to prime it with water.
Amount of water is depending on your tank size. Without water, fill
cycle won't raise the water level enough to contact the brine bed.
If you have owner's manual, look it up.

Is that because it was in 'service' mode? Like I said above, there's
only two modes, bypass and service. Is service mode the normal
operating mode or is it between bypass and service which is not
labeled?
