Well, acetylene explodes at pressure above 15 PSIG, doesn't it?



Ahhh yes, now I recall that's way its dissolved in acetone in the cylinder.



And the cylinder is filled with kitty litter. Which is why those tanks
are so heavy. Acet may..may explode spontainiouly if more than a
cubic foot is free in space. So they keep the open space to zero
inside those tanks.
