That is quite normal.

Imagine a long power cut with an empty house that had the alarm set by
the owners just as they went on holiday.

If the powercut is long enough so that the internal battery has time to
discharge you would not want the alarm to start up in a non alarmed
state when power is restored would you?

But your 7Ah battery should easily do a few days without power. Most
people have 2.1Ah batteries.
