Default Help - Alarm System Issues after Power Cut

Yes the battery was the culprit.
Thanks for response and pls see my other post.
From the behaviour of the panel and keypad I was seriously
expecting that the power cut had created a spike and fried the
panel board.

The other common problem with the battery is that after X years of being
trickle charged it still has a acceptable terminal voltage but it cannot
supply the instantaneous power on a power cut. This results in the alarm
triggering at the instant of the power cut but the batteries then supply
enough power for the alarm to stay sounding.

Sounds like my problem. I've picked a replacement battery up from
Screwfix - open till 8pm which I didn't realise. So hopefully
will be sorted tomorrow.
This time I'll put the install date on the front of the panel as
well as on the top of the battery
