VoIP IS CRAP ... and had been around for years and who would trust the
internet in an emergency ...........


Voip is in fact ,marvellous.


But I agree about trusting the internet during even a power cut.


That why you have a mobile...


The last time we had a major power failure here, the local mobile mast
failed after about an hour. Mains outage was for far longer.


But the BT exchange has to support the 999 service, so it has
battery-backup or even a standby gen set.
