The US has a long history of houses wired for land lines. Europe is not
as easily wired, Asia even less so. I recall hearing it could take
months to get a phone installed.

Put up a cell tower and suddenly thousands of people have phone service!
Fast and economical. Eurpose has better and faster broadband than the
US too.
