gasoline kills vegatation fast

When I was a kid, I remember the railroad crews spraying the track
right of way with diesel fuel to kill vegetation. Diesel fuel was quite
inexpensive when I was a youngster. I wonder what the equivalent
price per gallon would be now? I paid 22 cents a gallon for regular
gasoline back when I was in college and I remember diesel fuel
was cheaper. ?(?)?

Here's a web site reference - biut it only goes back to 1931 -
- so it might not apply to your childhood ... :-)

I was born in the middle of the last century when cars were big and heavy hunks of iron and steel and gasoline was cheap. When I hung out with my friends at Burger King during my college days, a Wopper, fry and a Coke was $1.00. I was working in a factory for minimum wage which was $1.65 per hour but I worked 3rd shift so I got an extra 3 cents per hour. I paid my own college tuition with the money I made. Funny how the dollar is worth so little now. ヽ(ヅ)ノ
