Do you remember the stowaway spare tires that had a CO2 cylinder with the jack and lug wrench. You would screw the CO2 cylinder on to the valve stem and the spare inflated like a balloon from a compact size. I imagine the paint ball enthusiasts have snapped them up. My 95 Jeep has a skinny high pressure spare.

The trick was getting them refilled and by now they are all out of
test anyway. It was a lot to go through for about a half pound of CO2

When I was still working, I had several 20lb CO2 cylinders made for soft drink dispensers. I had at least one in my service van that I used for blowing the dirt out of condensers, pressure testing and of course, inflating tires. I had 2 Q-sized nitrogen cylinders that I used to pressure test HVACR systems. If me and my late friend GB installed an HVAC system in an unoccupied home, such as a remodel, we never left the condensing unit on site. I'd cap off the copper stubs coming through the wall outside with fittings that had Shrader valves so I could blow nitrogen through the indoor line set and evaporator. I would then pressurize the system to 100lbs and if we returned to the job site and the pressure hadn't changed, we knew there were no leaks. Nobel gasses are very handy to have around. I never saw any reason to inflate passenger vehicle tires with nitrogen since it's doubtful a passenger car will travel at 400MPH or go into orbit. ヽ(ヅ)ノ
