I was going to ask what farmers have for mailboxes. Farm driveways
in my little area can be anywhere from ten yards apart to a couple miles or
so apart.
The postal service has specifications for mailbox height and distance
from the road shoulder so the carriers can deliver/pickup the mail without
getting out of their vehicles.

Mind you, I think it's pretty stupid when people have letterboxes at the bottom of their doors so the postie has to bend over all the time.
