I respect your right to carry guns, but I'll never understand the need

We carry them for the same reason we wear seat belts. It is
prudence, not fear.

Apparently far less Americans wear seatbelts than Brits.

I'm a Brit and I don't wear one, because the chances of needing it are too slim to bother putting it on every time. It's more comfortable not to be tied up.
