Interesting statistic standing alone, but what does it mean?
We lock people up for silly reasons?
Yes
We are better at catching criminals?
Perhaps
We have better laws?
The opposite
We have too many laws?
Yes
We imprison, other countries execute?
Somewhat true.
The reality is we have more killers and robbers but most prisoners are
there for non-violent drug crimes and a significant number of the
killings are related to the drug war.
