None of the bread we have is "rectangular".

The point I was making is that it isn't square, but has one dimension
longer then the other

the long dimension won't fit in the toaster whichever way you try


It obviously depends on who makes the bread. A "sandwich loaf" from our
local baker is 115mm x 130mm. Not far off rectangular and will go in our
toaster either way round.
