Didn't the buyer contact the seller before bidding to ask about its
general
condition? It seems the obvious thing to do with it being described 'as
is'.
Just out of curiousity, how much did he lose on it?

Not sure what he lost, but awhile back he mentioned that he could get
a couple of broken flat screen monitors for about $40 ea.

Had I known that he was going to get them on eBay, I would have told
him to find out more in advance about the "interference" problem that they
supposedly had. )`:

It just never occurred to me at the time that someone not in the know
would think that the symptom of a damaged display,
where the thing was melted by a hot light bulb, or hit with a fist,
could be perceived as "interference".
