?? No you don't. I suggest you look at Libre Office.

+1 I have not used Word, Excel or PP for at least 5 years - just
libreoffice - and that includes dealing and resending work's MS office
documents.

If your internet goes down while using a Chromebook, the Chromebook
becomes an illuminated ornament.
