Hey Mike - what's with the blue painter's tape in the first pic?
I think that's how they "mark flaws" (to address).
That's an intuitive guess given the appearance of filler in those
locations in the second picture. :-)
However, as I replied to Mike, I use masking tape to mark studs/joists
for nailing instead of using pencil marks.

drywall flaws. ; )
I mark those with spackle and a putty knife! ;-D
