Then why don't you check the switch first. Like momentarily shorting the
two leads
on the switch. If switch is good and you have power, at least you should
feel or hear some thing like motor humming or trying to turn jerking,
etc. If it is dead silent, indeed
switch may not be making a contact when you push it.
