Sounds terrifying, for the victims. Be nice if
one of his future victims had a handgun, and the
willingness to use it.
A lot of people smarter than the average reporter will refer to a
propane torch or a butane torch as a "blow torch" - and the flame on
them is virtually instant - and they are a LOT easier to carry around
and conceal.

But if you get stopped, and they find the torch, how will you explain
that? I can justify carrying a knife around a lot more than I can a
torch, unless I actually was taking it to a friend's to help him do
something.

Who has to justify anything?
