If we have elections with voter ID, that'll sort itself out. More people
voting, fewer fraudulent ballots, works for me.

How come the Iowa Republican caucuses don't
require photo ID?
The answer is they don't want the hassle.

Yawn...

Although I tend to be inclusive when considering who is eligible to
vote, I also wonder whether someone who is incapable of surmounting the
negligible hurdles in obtaining an appropriate ID would be competent to
understand the issues they are asked to vote upon.

The people who are capable are indeed voting and
at higher participation rates than before mostly because
they don't like the idea of hurdles put in their path to
the voting booth. There is nothing like putting hurdles
in front of voters to get them to believe their vote is
important.

Considering the tiny number of otherwise eligible voters with no valid
ID, I doubt there would be much difference.

There are estimated to be 21 million otherwise qualified voters
in the US who would have to upgrade their ID. That is alot of
voters your putting hurdles in front of and expecting they won't
be ****ed and won't act on their displeasure inside the voting booth.

21 million of voting age unable to buy alcohol or cigarettes? Unable to
use an airline or drive a car or receive govt assistance or enter a bar?

Yeah, right.
