You see, the game plan is, and always has been this: Mother Nature keeps creating diversity amongst all living things, and natural selection determines which of those changes it wants to keep. The result of all those small changes through history is called "Evolution", and it's what makes each species better suited to survive and prosper in the environment in which they live.

Homosexuality is just another example of natural diversity. In the grand scheme of things, it's not a step forward cuz two men or two women cannot reproduce, but it is, nonetheless, a normal part of that same overall game plan. It's just Mother Nature doing her thing.
