Citizenship is irrelevant. During WWII, we had, literally, tens of thousands
of POWs, imprisioned on American soil, who were U.S. citizens captured while
fighting for the Germans or Italians (think dual citizenship).

Not a one got access to the U.S. court system nor were they treated any
differently from their comrades in arms.
