schooling for children (including girls), low unemployment, and so on.

I would remind you that the Israelis tried to give Gaza back to the
Egyptians. The Egyptians didn't want it because it was full of Palestinians!

The problems of the Arabs in Gaza are ENTIRELY self-inflicted.

As for "out for themselves" I'll simply point to Albert Sabin and Jonas
Salk. Because of them, Polio has virtually disappeared from the planet
during my lifetime and yours.
