I seriously doubt that the tenets of your religion is consistent with
your political perspective. I've known many LDS people and all of them
were (and are) compassionate, generous, loving and tolerant. I'm not
saying that you are not, but the consequences of implementing the
political views you support are selfish, venal, hateful and intolerant.
