They're getting it from retailers who are paying increasing amounts for
CC processing charges and in turn they are raising the price you pay for
retail goods to compensate.

I'd imagine they get a good chunk of their cashflow from people dumb or
desperate enough to carry a balance on their cards. Some CC rates, if
the balance is carried too long, make a payday loan place or loan shark,
look cheap.

Now let's not exaggerate, here. Though the PLP down in town says it all on
their sign "First Loan Free".
