Well, here in Tulsa thieves stole several hundred feet of
copper wire from a live power substation. They knocked out
power to thousands of people in the middle of a heat wave.
Personally I don't think I want to go cutting a live
wire at 7,000 volts or higher.

some theifs don't survive the attempt.... B-)

time to put anti-tamper mine fields around power substations.
Maybe exploding dye packs to stain the thieves and the stolen metal for
later identification.

thieves also steal brass pipe valves,air conditioner units,catalytic
converters from under PU trucks,and I've seen rebar cages around some of
those items to prevent theft.
