And that's all it should take!

Sigh. Yet *another* person pontificating about the Constitution, without
having taken the time and trouble to actually read and understand it.

Well, your first statement is not only not true, but comes with the tone
of one who wishes to insult me rather than address actual issues,
therefore, your opinion has no value.

Rich, this isn't a matter of opinion. It is a matter of objective fact
that the Constitution explicitly provides for more than just the 546
officials you name. If you had read it, you would know this.

Please show me.

I already did -- but of course, you snipped the extensive quotes I supplied,
so that you can now pretend that this is something that I made up.

Here's just one. It's up to you to find the rest in my original response to
you.

"The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United
States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual
Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the
principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject
relating to the Duties of their respective Offices..." [Article II, Section 2,
first paragraph]

There are a few other things you got wrong, too:
- You said the Constitution specifies 100 Senators; it doesn't
- You said the Constitution specifies 435 Representatives; it doesn't
- You said the Constitution specifies 9 justices of the Supreme Court; it
doesn't

Unless, of course, you're talking about the military,
which is supposed to be the Militia, which is every able-bodied adult
citizen, to be used in times of overt attack.
(Article II, Section 2)

As noted above, I'm talking about the *numerous* places already cited in which
the Constitution refers to "Departments" and the "Officers" thereof, having
nothing to do with the militia or the regular military services. You clearly
didn't read my post any more carefully than you've read the Constitution.

But which is the "you can hire a million unelected bureaucrats" clause?

Perhaps you're thinking of the last paragraph of Article I, Section 8.
