Genuine question, how far does the Sale of Goods Act apply to replacement
component parts?

Same as any other retail sale.
If it fails within 6 months geof would have to prove it wasn't faulty,
afterwards the buyer would have to prove it was faulty at the time of
purchase.

Especially since incorrect reassembly, wear and other faults in the rest
of the appliance can adversly affect a new part.
