hello i currently own a hotpoint hob model no 63570 ,
and the oven model no 61320. and currently i am looking
into renewing the oven but i wish to keep the hob and i was
wondering if i was limited to which oven i buy because the
hob connections ie the plugs or are they standard on all hobs
Just in case anyone's wondering, this is a hob that doesn't have any
controls, but rather is controlled by the panel on the oven - the hob and
oven are obviously supplied as a built-under pack. This question was so
apparently obvious that I realised there must be rather more to the
particulars......

Dunno. Manual above seems to suggest that there is a separate control
panel
that can be used to control the hob rather than the oven one. If you
change
out of the hotpoint "system" then it's highly likely that you will need to
try and source one of these.
Thing to do would be to look at the connector between the two, then trot
off
down to the local electrical retailer (not Curry's - they prolly won't
have
a clue) and look at similar connector on (eg) a zannussi built-under
combination. If they're the same then you have a good chance that there
is
actually some kind of standard and they might be interchangeable. If not
then you're probably experiencing the sharp end of the non-standard policy
that locks you into a particular manufacturer's products....
hope this helps
