I have a wonderfully shiny stainless cutlery set. A spoon seemed a bit
tarnished so I polished it. It looks like the spoon was chromeplated,
so it will never be shiny again. So try polishing one piece of cutlery
before you do the whole lot.

I didn't know you could chrome plate stainless steel.

Isn't it something to do with washing a silver plated item with stainless
steel. It sets up some sort of reaction / electrolytic effect? (If I recall
correctly)
