Hey, so I'm no techy, or anything of the sort, but I thought I'd
help my Girlfriend out and fix her grandma's tv, thinking it'd be a
quick fix. Â*Here's the issue.
The blue on the tv is gone, but not completely. Â*Every so often the
color will pop back on for maybe 2-3 minutes at a time, once or
twice a week. She says she's cleaned it head to toe, nothing still.
Â*I've googled this thing six ways from sunday, and all the posts
seem to mention replacing boards or the such, but the color isn't
completely gone. Â*Anything I can do? Â*Super huge thanks in advance.

Start looking for dry joints ! Â*Start around the tube base circuit
board.

I hate to be a pest, but you'll have to be a bit more descriptive than
that hehe. I know what a dry joint is, but is there anything specific
I should look for?
Is there anything that could have suddenly caused
this? Her TV was working fine about a month ago, when suddenly the
blue just vanished.
Thanks for your quick response by the way!

If you feel competent to work on live circuits then probe around with a
wooden skewer and see if touching or tapping causes the blue to come
back.
