How much of the problem is that all the newsreads I'm familar with a
- Somewhat feature-free.
- Hard to set up.

Perhaps a newsreader as easy to use as MS Word, that handled:
- Deleting obvious porn.
- Synchronized input from multiple news servers.
- On the user's choice, deleted all multi posts
would be successful, and would help increase the popularity of newsgroups.

Going to HTML format by default may help too... g
