The padlock goes through a plastic shield around the switch. Now
who's seen these in service where someone has cut the _switch_ to
remove a padlock(?!?!) because it's easier!


If you would care to read the op's original post you would note that the
switch is in a steel box fitted with a padlock.

The *point* is to minimise risk by any and all appropriate methods.
