Given that the FCU for a boiler is likely to be left on all the

Making a few assumptions such as the strike voltage of the neon is 90v,
and has 100k resistor in series and the mains is DC not AC (bear with
me!)then the current would be 1.5mA and the power 0.36 watts and this
would consume 1 unit of electricity in 2800 hours.
But the mains is a sine wave and the neon is only lit when the peak
voltage is greater than 90 volts so possibly only on for 2/3rds of the time.
Which gets us to over 4000 hours per unit. So depending on your tariff
maybe 20 pence per year.
