Does anyone here have a lava lamp?
I have one *( Mathmos) and the cap to *bottle and the base to bottle
appear to have been glued together *at some point but the "glue" has
now hardened and failed so it's a bit unstable . You need to be able
to gain access to the bulb to change it so it can't be glued
permanently and I was wondering if anyone has encountered this sort of
problem .

Had several over the years & Son bought one a few years back
base a separate from the bottle which just lifts out they have always been
like this

Aah..so probably a previous owner ( it came via Freecycle) has thought

.Oh well, silicone between base and base cover it is then and that'll
still let me change the bulb if necessary . Between bottle and base
I'll need to think about ...- Hide quoted text -

Lava lamps sometimes considered dangeous and often recommended not to
leave them on when absent or asleep!

I just use it occasionally anyway and never when I go out .Apprently
according to a Forum I visited you shouldn't have them on for more
than about 5 hours unless you are using a dimmer.
