Under no circumstances is Harry Reid in the line of succession for the
Presidency.

First in line, obviously, is the Vice President. Then the Speaker of the
House. Then the President pro tempore of the Senate -- who is Robert Byrd.
(Harry Reid is the majority leader.)

Note, too, that the Speaker of the House can succeed to the Presidency *only*
if the Vice Presidency is vacant at the time the President dies, resigns, or
is removed from office.

If Obama dies in office, Biden becomes President -- and then nominates someone
to become Vice President, subject to confirmation by the Senate. Unless that
person is Nancy Pelosi, she remains, as Speaker of the House, still two steps
away from the Oval Office.
