That's just what I am running. it zapped over 3/4 of the
articles today. (Granted, some of the blocking is based in IP addresses
in the "NNTP-Posting-Host: " header zapping Chinese and Indian spam.

I post a machine question get zero replies, someone posts a political
rant and the replies can go over 100. WTF?

Well ... I typically only see the first of each political
subject, after which the killfile does its thing for me. To keep the
killfile from getting too large, I typically have them set to expire
after 30-60 days. (Easy to do with slrn at least.)
