His birth announcement was placed in the paper by his family at the
time. And unlike Factcheck, I don't think that required that the
family knew in 1961 that he was going to run for president and was
embarking on some long range conspiracy. They could have placed the
announcement, which went in the paper 3 weeks after the birth to
establish that they had a new son and make him look like he was born
in HI regardless of where he was born. Do I think that is likely?
Probably not, but when the Governor of HI starts sealing of records, I
want to know more.

As to right wing lies, I don't see any lies regarding this issue.
Just legitimate questions:

Why did the governor of HI seal all the records surrounding his
birth? Surely any governor considering doing this unprecedented act
involving a presidential candidate would have consulted the campaign
BEFORE doing it, because it's bound to be highly controversial.
Would a governor of his own party do that, risk impacting BO's
campaign, without consulting him first? I know there is no way in
hell I would. without checking with BO first.

And why, if there's nothing to hide, doesn't BO just issue a statement
saying so and asking that all records relating to his birth be made
available? And don't give us the non-excuse of possible identity
theft. I mean, how far would anyone get using the birth certificate
and pretending to be BO? All the birth certificate has is his name
and when and where he was born, which are already well known.

It's also curios to me that the copy of the birth certificate issued
by BO's campaign had the document identifying numbers whited out.
The campaign said they did that because they thought these might have
been intended to be kept secret by the state of HI? That sounds
fishy to me. When you start putting it all together, it just raises
more questions and very legitimate ones that people have a right to
know BEFORE the election.
