Good question. For the first six years of the Bush administration, it was
doing pretty well. Pulled out of a mild recession, low unemployment, 21
straight quarters of economic growth, low interest rates, high productivity,
massive amounts of new jobs, and so forth. These in spite of 9-11, Katrina,
and two wars.

Then the Democrats took over the Congress...
