It's a simple draw tube and collet adapter for a lathe. The taper on the
outside of the collet holder would fit the lathes spindle taper,
whatever that may be.


Ayup. Short headstock too. Might have been a grinding fixture or
speed lathe. Im voting grinding fixture of some sort due to the short
length.
